        To be fair to brados it is ridiculously cheap and once you get past the dirt, cockroaches and damp smell it is, in some ways, bareable. Although I did wake up to some absolute mong digging through my bag looking for a condom after taking home the human equivalent of a bag of sand. I travelled with a friend and she was so horrified that she upped and went to Manly after the first night. Also people who live in hostels and refer to themselves as a 'family' need to really think about their general outlook on life. Probably would only recommend it to Mugabe.   http://www.tripadvisor.com.au/Hotel_Review-g255060-d1911253-Reviews-Brado_s_Backpackers-Sydney_New_South_Wales.html#REVIEWS

        The most uninhabitable hostel (if you can class it as such) I've ever step foot in. I will write a list seeing as there's far too much to just describe....it will paint the image for you. Please bear in mind this is after pushing your way through the drug addicts, alcoholics and homeless lerking around the front door which is easily accessible by them seeing as it's never shut!
        *Cockroaches by the thousand every crack corner...and if your bags open they'll be hiding away there too
        * Rot,damp and mould
        *Half ripped carpet tripping you up the unvacuumed staircase
        *The reception desk (if manned) is by someone that has absolutely no clue who you are, matter of fact if they knew who they were I'd be surprised. We were greeted by some unwashed, half dressed girl smelling of sick dancing on the desk. Not particularly polite or helpful.
        *Upon entering our room without the use of our key (again held open by a flip flop) I was utterly disgusted at the complete state of the room.
        *The floor once you could see it was so dirty I couldn't bear to even consider taking my shoes off. Again ripped and full of unwanted critters
        * No window in the bathroom so people could see in! There was plenty of mould
        *Cracks running the whole way through the basin to the point it would slowly drip through the bottom, again plenty of mould in that too
        *Shower, probably cleaner to not use...full of empty bottles etc. Clearly not checked by the staff, no surprise. Again plenty off mould and layers or grime around the edges. Apart from being extremely dirty it was also dangerous due to the slippery surface of the grime and glass cracks
        * Air-conditioning that we paid for was not turned on the first night due to it needing to be cleaned, then it was broken then another million excuses. After it was turned on it leaked dirty sewage looking water all over three beds soaking them through and flooding the floor. The only help given by staff was "you can move rooms ...I suppose"
        * Lockers in the rooms ...full of other peoples stuff who had long gone. There also wasn't enough lockers for the amount of people in your room but that didn't matter as you couldn't close the doors on them anyway
        * There was a fridge in your room... Can you guess what it had in it? Yes mould, flys, cockroaches etc etc.
        *There are a few people who reside as 'part of the furniture' at brados. They are just as disgusting and untrustworthy as the place they reside in. Ourselves and other guest regularly found them picking up a fork and mooching through the fridge opening peoples food and taking mouthfuls of it. Also snooping around bags and personal belongings.
        *Laundry room/storage/dumping ground...you get the idea.
        *The wifi...Worked Hooray
        *We changed rooms the other room was just as horrid...if not worse.
        *The manager refused to pay us the $1300 back that was paid upfront or even offer some compensation.

        All in all the place needs to be burnt to the ground. After loosing a huge amount of money we stayed one night instead of the two weeks we where supposed to stay. We had to shell out for another hostel which as it turned out was cheaper and cleaner. I will continue to fight for our rights and money when I return home however I am, for now, enjoying the rest of my time in Australia. I hope no one has to visit this hell hole. If anyone else has had the same kind of experience I will be putting a case together upon my return and have pictures etc any other evidence would be greatly appreciated.
